Ishmael Miller says he’s eager to be at Huddersfield Town next season.

The Mancunian striker who joined from Blackpool on a short-term deal earlier this year is eyeing a 15th appearance for the club in their penultimate match at home to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

The 28-year-old is aiming to help Town extend a five-match unbeaten run in the Championship, and secure a new contract.

“This is a great club and I soon felt settled,” said Miller, who has featured in three Championship promotions, two with West Brom and one with QPR.

“I like the vibe of the place, it’s a lot like West Brom when I first went there (from Manchester City in 2007).

“It’s a people-orientated club, everyone knows each other and everyone is pulling in the same direction.

“And the manager (Chris Powell) has been brilliant with me since I walked through the door.

“I believe being happy off the pitch is a big factor in you going out and performing on it, and I think I’ve been doing okay.

“I will continue to give it everything between now and the end of the season and hopefully something will get sorted out.”

Miller, who has scored three goals, beat a back problem to feature in last Saturday’s 4-4 home draw with Derby County.

“I felt it against Sheffield Wednesday and missed the following game at home to Ipswich,” he explained.

“Then I came off the bench at Nottingham Forest (another of his former clubs) and started away to Brighton.

“I was in a bit of pain late last week but I wanted to play against Derby and I was pleased to make a contribution to what was a great game.”

Town, who are 15th, go to Blackpool for their final game on Saturday week, and Miller is targeting six more points.

“We’re heading into the Blackburn game in good spirits and we all want to finish the season on a high,” he added.

“Five matches unbeaten in the Championship is no mean feat, but seven would be even better.”
