Baytree Interiors opens in Huddersfield

Home furnishings retailer Baytree Interiors has created six jobs

A home interiors retailer has opened a new store in Huddersfield town centre with the creation of six full and part-time jobs.

Harrogate-based Baytree Interiors has taken the lease on a 1,000sq ft unit on Princess Alexandra Walk in the Piazza Shopping Centre as part of plans to expand from its North Yorkshire heartland.

The premises, previously occupied by clothes retailer Emma, opens its doors today to sell home accessories, lighting and furniture.

The outlet is the 11th Baytree store to open in the company’s portfolio, creating six full and part-time jobs.

Family-owned Baytree Interiors has undertaken a full refit of the unit, including creating complete room sets to show customers how its range of products can work together.

Baytree Interiors managing director Nik Hill

Baytree Interiors managing director Nik Hill said: “Last year was a really good year for Baytree Interiors. We opened three new retail outlets across the North and we’re looking forward to expanding further this year, taking our range of unusual and competitively-price products to an even wider audience.

“Huddersfield was the next natural step for us in our expansion plans. Being near to the M62 it attracts visitors from across the North and North West.

“When the unit at Princess Alexandra Walk became available we knew it fitted our criteria exactly – being in a prime location with good frontage and the added benefit of both covered and open air shopping which makes the Piazza a popular year-round shopping destination.”

At the Piazza, Baytree joins high street brands including Bhs, Thorntons, Boots, Suoerdrug and Dorothy Perkins.

Baytree Interiors soon to open on The Piazza, Hudersfield.

The Huddersfield outlet is the first of five new shops planned by Baytree Interiors for 2016, with the company currently looking for further premises in West Yorkshire and the Humber.

Baytree Interiors also has outlets at the Woolshops in Halifax and in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ilkley, Northallerton, York, Whitby, Middlesbrough and the Metro Centre in Gateshead.

The company was helped by Leeds law firm Clarion and letting agents Bowcliffe Chartered Surveyors in securing the Huddersfield unit.
